How do I book a motorcycle?
You can book directly through our website by choosing your motorcycle, selecting your dates, and completing the inquiry form. Alternatively, you can WhatsApp us for a quicker response.
What are the payment options?
We accept all major debit and credit cards. Payments are processed through a secure payment portal.
What is required to secure my booking?
A deposit is required to confirm your reservation, with the balance due 14 days before collection. Full details will be provided at the time of booking.
What is your cancellation policy?
• Cancellation more than 30 days before the rental start date: The booking deposit will be refunded. • Cancellation between 7 and 30 days before the rental start date: An amount equivalent to one (1) day’s rental will be withheld, plus any bank or card processing costs associated with the refund. • Cancellation less than 7 days before the rental start date: 10% of the total rental value will be withheld by ADV Bike Co; the remainder will be refunded less any applicable bank or processing fees. • No-show on the day of rental: The full rental fee is non-refundable. No credit or carryover will be offered.
Is insurance included in the rental price?
Comprehensive insurance is included with every rental.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes, a refundable security deposit is required and held on a credit card at the time of collection. The deposit amount varies by bike model.
What happens if the bike is damaged during my rental?
In the event of damage, you will be billed directly for the cost of repairs up to the maximum liability amount applicable to your rental. The maximum liability differs per bike model and will be clearly communicated before your rental begins. Once the maximum liability amount has been reached, no further charges apply, this is the most you will ever pay in the event of damage.
What licence do I need to rent an adventure motorcycle?
A valid motorcycle licence is required for all rentals. International visitors will need an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their home country licence. If you are unsure whether your licence is valid in South Africa, get in touch and we will advise.
Do I need previous experience on a large adventure bike?
We recommend that renters have prior experience on motorcycles of a similar size and weight. If you are new to larger adventure bikes, speak to us before booking and we can help match you to the right bike in our fleet.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes, renters must be at least 23 years old. Certain models may have additional requirements, so please confirm at the time of booking.

We are based in Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa.
Where do I collect and return the bike?
Our base is in Durbanville, Cape Town. Collection and return is from this location unless a delivery arrangement has been made in advance.
Do you offer delivery and collection?
Yes, nationwide delivery and collection can be arranged for an additional fee. This is particularly useful for one-way touring routes or fly-and-ride trips. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Can I do a one-way rental?
Yes, one-way rentals are possible subject to availability and routing. Get in touch and we will work out the logistics with you.
What happens if I have a mechanical problem on the road?
All our bikes are well-maintained to minimise the risk of breakdowns. In the unlikely event of a mechanical issue, our team will provide remote support and arrange assistance as quickly as possible.
Can I take the bike across South African borders?
Cross-border travel is possible into select neighbouring countries with the correct documentation. Please advise us of your intended route at the time of booking so we can prepare the necessary paperwork.
What motorcycles do you offer for rental?
We offer a range of adventure motorcycles, including the BMW R1300 GS, BMW R1250 GS Enduro, BMW R1250 GS Trophy, Husqvarna Norden 901, KTM 790 Adventure, and Honda CB500X.
Do you have 4x4 vehicles available?
Yes, we offer the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 for rental, which is perfect for support or standalone 4x4 adventures.
Are the bikes suitable for off-road riding?
Yes. All bikes in our fleet are adventure-spec machines capable of handling both tar and gravel. If you are planning serious off-road riding, let us know and we can advise on the best bike for your route.
Can I request specific accessories or luggage?
Yes. Panniers, top boxes, tank bags, and other accessories are available on request. Let us know your needs when booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Can I combine a motorcycle rental with a 4x4 support vehicle?
Yes, this is a popular option for groups or longer expeditions. Our Toyota Land Cruiser 79 is available as a support vehicle, complete with overlanding gear and rooftop tent on request.
